On May 7, 2019, during the Google I/O keynote, Google announced that all of their smart home products will henceforth be marketed under the Nest brand. Nest had been subsumed by Google's home hardware unit in July 2018. Once the link is established, you can then go back a screen to make sure it is set as a default for whenever music is played. We’ve edited this post to clarify that Bluetooth speaker output is fully compatible with the existing speaker groups functionality in the Google Home app, but it does not directly enable multi-room audio.
Next time, after you turn on the Bluetooth speaker, Google Home ail NOT automatically switch back to the Bluetooth speaker. As shown above, tap the speaker name to pair/ connect Google Home to this Bluetooth speaker. As shown above, tap the menu key on the top right corner of the living room speaker card. So, the audio quality may be limited by the Bluetooth codec of Google Home devices, even if your Bluetooth speaker supports aptX or LDAC.
Using audio groups
Google Nest, previously named Google Home, is a line of smart speakers developed by Google under the Google Nest brand. The devices enable users to speak voice commands to interact with services through Google Assistant, the company's virtual assistant. Both in-house and third-party services are integrated, allowing users to listen to music, control playback of videos or photos, or receive news updates entirely by voice.
Touch and hold the tile of the device you want to pair. Once done, sit back and play your locally saved songs, podcasts or even YouTube videos via Bluetooth. Touch and hold the Nest or Home device that you want to connect your Bluetooth device to. Turn on your Bluetooth speaker (or make sure it's in a state to accept connections). Why use Google Home Mini as a Bluetooth Speaker?
Google Home Mini is now in Bluetooth pairing enabled mode. Or you can go to your Google Home app, there select the speaker you wish to connect to, and then go to settings. Users can connect and group together multiple Home speakers for synchronized playback of music in every room. A notable feature omission, multiple accounts, was criticized by JR Raphael of Computerworld in November 2016, but an update for users in the United States in April 2017 enabled the feature. It now supports hands-free calling, letting users make calls to any landline or mobile phone in the United States, Canada and later, the UK for free.
The Enable Pairing Mode lets you pair any number of smartphones at a given time. However, when it comes to playing songs, only one device will be able to play songs. This will remove your Bluetooth speaker from the paired device list. You'll need to pair and connect this speaker to use it again.
